Are Website Directories Still Used? By Blazing Minds Some time back it was always advised to get your website on a Website Directory and get your site linked and from my experience this was great, not only for helping boost my sites but also boosting many others. But these days do people still use Website Directories? It can be hard to get yourself listed in one of the top directories like DMOZ for example, I have been an editor at DMOZ, MusicMoz and my own run Directory for many years and have noticed a decline in the amount of websites been submitted. So what has caused this decline, is it that website owners now depend on other sites linking back to them without working hard promoting the sites themselves. Or is it that these days people don't like to pay or wait for the directory to approve their links, I'm not really sure, but there certainly has been a decline in links been added to most sites.
